About The Founder : Agnes Enid Fife
Agnes Enid Fife was born on June 12, 1929 on the island of Mayreau, St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Agnes grew up in an agricultural environment where indentured servitude was the norm. Former slave owners controlled the small island, and from a young age Agnes knew that her life was meant for more than oppression. Shortly after her son Maurice was born, Agnes moved to Trinidad and had her 2nd child Sharon.
On July 28, 1961, in Trinidad, Agnes heard the gospel told by a preacher named Morris Cuerello. On that night, Agnes felt the Lord calling her to a true and authentic relationship with him. Agnes believed that she was called as an evangelist to the lost and was a witness for Jesus from that day.
While in Trinidad, Agnes met the late George Albert Fife. They were married in 1965, and had three children, Paul Esther and John Elton. Agnes was a dedicated wife and mother to all of her 5 children. Her family was first, and she and her husband taught their children to fear and serve the Lord, to respect authority, and to love people.
Agnes had an unwavering prayer life and love for people. She took young women off the streets and gave them a place to call home while telling them of the love of Jesus. She was a prayer warrior and a feisty preacher.
She was called to be an evangelist and no amount of discouragement was going to interrupt the call of God in her life. There were some at that time who believed a woman with two children out of wedlock should not be an evangelist, there were others who encouraged her including her then Pastor, the late Rev Dr Levi Duncan. She attended the West Indies School of Theology and graduated top of her class on May 3, 1978.
Following this she assisted in pioneering churches in Maraval, Mt. Hope, Mt. Dor, El Socorro, Arima, Boundary Road, Valencia, Mamoral, Woodbrook and in other areas in Trinidad. She preached and taught in many camp meetings and crusades. She visited villages and communities on Saturdays to meet and talk with the people and received permission from parents to take their children to Sunday school the next day. Many of those people came to know Jesus through her ministry. Agnes would do whatever was necessary to bring others to the saving knowledge of Jesus, whether by using her savings to purchase bibles and taking them to remote areas, or by starting her own Sunday schools for children. Her desire to establish the Kingdom of God was relentless. At her home church Curepe Pentecostal Church, Agnes was the President of the Women’s ministry, President of Christian Education, and became the first person to teach Religious Instructions to secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
In 1986, Agnes and George began moving their family to the United States in hopes of providing the best education and opportunities for their children. The Fife family migrated to Boston, MA where Agnes became planted in ministry serving in different churches, her latest being Holy Tabernacle Church in Boston MA, under the leadership of Bishop Arthur Jack.
Agnes was a giver. She took great joy in taking barrels of clothes and food to the Caribbean islands, for those who were less fortunate. In 2007 she founded Jehovah Jireh Ministries, a foundation to feed and clothe the needy.
Agnes Enid Fife was a soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ. She precisely practiced what she preached. She shared her faith, talents, gifts, and compassion for others with everyone she encountered. From her conversion in 1961, to her final day on Christmas Day of 2017, she lived according to the Macedonian call on her life. Even in her final days, Agnes could be heard sharing her faith with nurses and doctors. The outpouring of love and support at her passing is a testament to the magnificent life she lived, and the legacy of faithfulness that all who came in contact with her, were all blessed to experience.
